A little bit about your coach
Hello, I’m Lucy and welcome. I’m a PT, fitness instructor & Women’s Wellness Coach based in Tring, Herts. I’m mum to two boys who are my world.
I’m not your usual PT as my journey to get here has shaped my approach to exercise. I’ve always loved the feelings that exercise has given me, from the running high, to the joy of playing netball with a group of women and the power I feel from punching a boxing pad. However, as many Millennial woman I know, I’ve often felt pressure - to be fitter, leaner, ignore the pain (don’t get me started on ‘no pain no gain’), bounce back to the younger me and be ‘perfect’. This, combined with a deep lack of trust and love for myself and my body (from childhood and motherhood), led to everything compounding and burnout. It took a journey of healing to really shift that narrative, trust and be just a bit nicer to myself and take that pressure off, which is something I still have to work on every day.
Why am I telling you this? As this journey shapes my passion in the women’s health space.
I believe exercise and health is more than just a gym session and a meal plan, its releasing, reclaiming and renewing, changing that relationship to your body by understanding it more and letting go of those narratives that don’t serve you anymore.
My jam is helping women let go of perfectionism and find exercise that makes you FEEL – feel like you matter, feel worthy, feel safe and feel strong. Show up for yourself daily, honour yourself in the now and most of all laugh at the messy.
Why have me in your corner?
I get it. I understand the sh*t life throws at us as women. Having burnt out juggling a corporate PR job, looking after children I felt alone in it all, overwhelmed, time poor, full of rage and not sure how to get into my groove when it comes to putting myself and my health first.
I will help you find it. I’m not the usual PT/Coach, I believe discipline and kindness aren’t mutually exclusive – you can find a routine that works for you, but also lean in and connect to your body and go gently and intuitively knowing when to rest and when to play! This isn’t weakness, it’s power.
Shame-free accountability. I strive to create a safe and supported environment in both my classes and 1-2-1s and I can hold your hand through what can sometimes be uncomfortable and hard first steps in reconnecting to your body and exercise.
My creds. I’m a level 3 certified PT, pre/postnatal exercise specialist, women’s wellness coach (GGS certified) and fitness instructor (see my current classes). Trauma-informed.
